The famous Amorbach Abbey Concerts take place at regular intervals throughout the year. This year marks the celebration of the 70th Anniversary. The atmosphere in the royal Abbey Church is absolutely perfect for this. At the center is the famous organ built by the Stumm brothers in the year 1782, one of the largest preserved baroque organs in Europe with unique beauty of sound.
There is no better stage for the Sommerrausch Festival that takes place every year at the end of June. The cinema was rebuilt in 1940 by Ernst Hammann stood empty for many years until after numerous renovations it became the cabaret stage for the cultural circle “Kulturkreises Zehntscheuer Amorbach e.V.” Today there is always a diversified program on offer with well-known artistes from the fields of comedy, cabaret, music and theater.

PROCESSION WITH A LONG TRADITION
Every year since 1497 in the second weekend of May the Gangolfsritt takes place in Amorbach in celebration of the church patron St. Gangolf. A procession on horseback with blessing of riders, horses and carriages, in honor of this saint. The route of the procession begins at the castle square and proceeds through the historic town to the blessing of horses at the Chapel Amorsbrunn and then back again.
HUSTLE & BUSTLE IN THE OLD TOWN
Every year in autumn the Wendelinus Market takes place over the weekend and is very well received by both local residents and visitors from the area and beyond. Clubs, craftsmen, performing artists and musicians all come together in the castle square and the old town and demonstrate their skills. Interesting exhibitions, guided tours and of course culinary highlights are all part of the varied program of events.
